Season 2 – Culture and Arts Programming

Overview

Culture & Arts is a powerful fusion of global exploration and creative self-expression. This season combines the transformative impact of international service-learning with the healing power of artistic expression—expanding how girls see the world and how they see themselves within it.

Through immersive travel experiences and reflective creative practice, participants develop cultural intelligence, emotional resilience, and leadership capacity.

Global Service & Cultural Exchange

This component offers youth transformative service-learning experiences abroad, connecting Southern girls to Africa and beyond. Participants engage in humanitarian projects while deepening their understanding of history, heritage, and global citizenship.

Girls may travel to countries such as Ghana, Egypt, and Tanzania, where they participate in:

• Service Projects – Supporting initiatives such as boreholes for clean water, libraries, computer labs, and children’s enrichment programs
• Cultural Immersion – Engaging directly with local communities, traditions, cuisine, and arts
• Educational Tours – Visiting historical landmarks that connect participants to global history and African legacy
• Youth Leadership Assignments – Serving as project leads, cultural ambassadors, and reflection facilitators during travel

These experiences broaden perspectives, deepen cultural pride, and cultivate confident, globally aware young leaders.

The Creative Table: Art, Healing & Expression

Complementing the global experience is The Creative Table—a mental wellness and self-expression series designed to help girls process, reflect, and grow through creativity.

Through guided sessions led by mentors and guest artists, participants engage in:

• Art-Based Healing Workshops – Painting, journaling, and hands-on creative exercises
• Resilience & Self-Worth Conversations – Group discussions centered on identity, voice, and personal growth
• Rotating Creative Themes – Coloring, crochet, poetry writing, and vision board creation

The Creative Table provides a safe, affirming space for girls to explore their thoughts and emotions, strengthening self-awareness and community bonds.
